1 cup fine beach sand
1/2 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup boiling water (more may be needed)

Mix sand and cornstarch thoroughly in the top of a double boiler. Pour in the boiling water and mix well. Cook in double boiler briefly until mixture has thickened. If too thick, and add a little boiling water. When cool enough to handle, use for modeling. Bake on a flat pan at 275 degrees until dry. It can also be air-dried.
