Christmas Time is Almost Here
My body feels the cold and
I know
that Christmas time is almost here.

My eyes see the crowds and
I know
that Christmas time is almost here.

The schools put on their charming plays and
I know
that Christmas time is almost here.

The kids are jumping in anticipation and
I know
that Christmas time is almost here.

I open my empty wallet and
I know
that Christmas time is almost here.

all the cleaning
all the cooking
all the eating
all the shopping
all the laughing
all the crying and

I know
that Christmas time is almost here.

Where is the "M"erry in Christmas?
Where is the "J"oy in Christmas?
Where is the "P"eace in Christmas?
Where is the "L"ove in Christmas?
Where is the "K"indness to strangers in Christmas?
Where is the "E"veryone in Christmas?
Where is the "F"orgiveness in Christmas?
(Shame on you if you thought the "f" stood for something else!)

We are all outside somewhere,
looking for anything and everything
that means Christmas and Christmas cheer.

Why don't we just for one brief moment
take off our glasses of reality
and close our eyes.
Look for our love-
hidden inside
and
smile.

Where is the "S"mile in Christmas?
There it is!
At the very end,
and in the middle, too.

Merry ChriStmaS!

"Seek out that particular mental attribute which makes you feel most deeply and vitally alive, along with which comes the inner voice which says, 'This is the real me,' and when you have found that attitude, follow it."
William James
Postmen in Victorian England were popularly called "robins." This was because their uniforms were red. The British Post Office grew out of the carrying of royal dispatches. Red was considered a royal color, so uniforms and letter-boxes were red. Christmas cards often showed a robin delivering Christmas mail.
