I Am Raftery
I am Raftery the fiddler,
The wandering bard.
My eyes have no sight
But light is my heart.

Going west on my journey
By the light of my soul,
So tired and weary
To the end of my road.

I've long spindly legs
And a shock of red hair,
A way with the women
And with whiskey I fear.

I wander the roads
Through Galway I go,
All searching for love
On my way to Mayo.

Behold me now
With my back to a wall;
Playing music
For an empty hall.

Poets are the unacknowledged legislators of the world.  ~Percy Byshe Shelley
The term "honeymoon" is derived from the Babylonians who declared mead, a honey-flavored wine, the official wedding drink, stipulating that the bride's parents be required to keep the groom supplied with the drink for the month following the wedding.
