This time I'll win the Grand Award
I've struck a universal chord
The form and content in same key
The rhyme and meter vis-a-vis
Engaging light touch - does not shriek
My work is clear, concise, unique
No dangling parts nor split infins
( or are such crimes no longer sins? )
The adjectives well-used, and few
A most intriguing point of view
The vivid verbs correct in tense
My poem drips with eloquence
I've read the rules, done what they say
Now for due date... whoops! Yesterday.
