Beside the Still Waters
Thou God of peace, I thank thee that thou art leading me beside the still waters.
Here I can be free from the noise and confusion of the world of men.
In the quietness of this place, may I be able to hear thy still small voice as it speaks within my soul.
As the disciples found rest and help by listening to Jesus on the quiet shore of Galilee, so may I find renewed strength by talking with thee.
Help me to remember that still waters are often deep.
Lead me into a deeper knowledge of thyself.
Teach me what it means to live as thy child.
Reveal thyself to me more fully as the Eternal Father who loves me and seeks to guide me in the paths of righteousness.
May I be sure that the way of life which is taught by Jesus is the only right way.
May I walk in it with gladness and joy. In Jesus' name. Amen.
